What “current” are you floating on?

The power of feeling in the present moment is like a creek with a strong current. Is your emotional “current” appreciation, gratitude, and hope? OR one of distress, resistance, or stress? Sometimes the “current”/emotion carries us along and we can float on that emotion effortlessly and easily. You wake up happy and are able to tread all day feeling good and other times we wake up worried or not feeling quite right. It becomes a struggle to keep from rushing down the stream of stress and worry. That’s when we must intentionally focus and make an effort to redirect our stream, which means breaking out the oars, boat, safety raft, floaty or what ever else to keep from going down the choppy waters and to redirect us back on the stream of peace, appreciation, and love.

  1. I hear ya sister. Sometimes I wake up happy and then sometimes those waters are strong and throwing me in all directions down the river. I have to gain strength from within where my God lies. I have to make a consious choice to have a happy day with minimal stress in it and that comes through prayer and believing God’s promises. A verse I always hang on to in my head is: Trust in the Lord with all your heart, lean not unto your own understanding, acknowledge Him at all times and He shall direct your path and make all crooked places straight. (Prov. 3:5-6)
    As you said, all is well, all will be good in time. God is my floaty and what keeps me afloat. Thanks for this reminder. Love your blog.
